" What if we get to become stars? "

What if once upon a time there were no stars in the sky at all? What if the stars arent what we think? What if the light from afar doesnt come from the rays of distant sun but from our wings as we turn into angels?

Why would so many things conspire to save one little girls life? What if we are all unique and what if the universe loves us all equally and it bends over backwards to help us all and we are just lucky enough once in awhile to see it?

What if we are part of a greater pattern that we are incapable of knowing? What if when we are done with our purpose we get to rise up and be with those we love? What if we get to become stars?

-Beverly Penn ( WINTER'S TALE )

And in that case, I would like a pair of shiny purple wings and a very slight talent in doodling, pretty please?!

EVERYDAY

Everyday, Lord I learn to stand upon your word.
And I pray that I might come to know you more.
That you would guide me in every single step I take.
That EVERYDAY I can be your light into the world.

Letters to Juliet

‎"What" and "If" are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don't know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it's never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn't it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart. I don't know what a love like Juliet's feels like - love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for but I'd like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I will have the courage to seize it."

A FATHER'S RULES FOR FINDING FULFILLMENT

A must read:

A FATHER'S RULES FOR FINDING FULFILLMENT

Be courteous, be punctual, always say please and thank you, and be sure to hold your knife and fork properly. Others take their cue on how to treat you from your manners.

Be kind, considerate and compassionate when others are in trouble, even if you have problems of your own. Others will admire your selflessness and will help you in due course.

Show moral courage. Do what is right, even if that makes you unpopular. I always thought it important to be able to look at myself in the shaving mirror every morning and not feel guilt or remorse. I depart this world with a pretty clear conscience.

Show humility. Stand your ground but pause to reflect on what the other side are saying, and back off when you know you are wrong. Never worry about losing face. That only happens when you are pig-headed.
Learn from your mistakes. You will make plenty so use them as a learning tool. If you keep making the same mistake or run into a problem, you’re doing something wrong.

Avoid disparaging someone to a third party; it is only you who will look bad. If you have a problem with someone, tell them face to face.

Hold fire! If someone crosses you, don’t react immediately. Once you say something it can never be taken back, and most people deserve a second chance.

Have fun. If this involves taking risks, so be it. If you get caught, hold your hands up.

Give to charity and help those who are less fortunate than yourselves: it’s easy and so rewarding.

Always look on the upside! The glass is half full, never half empty. Every adversity has a silver lining if you seek it out.

Make it your instinct always to say ‘yes’. Look for reasons to do something, not reasons to say no. Your friends will cherish you for that.

Be canny: you will get more of what you want if you can give someone more of what they desire. Compromise can be king.

Always accept a party invitation. You may not want to go, but they want you there. Show them courtesy and respect.

Never ever let a friend down. I would bury bodies for my friends, if they asked me to . . . which is why I have chosen them carefully.

Always tip for good service. It shows respect. But never reward poor service. Poor service is insulting.

Always treat those you meet as your social equal, whether they are above or below your station in life. For those above you, show due deference, but don’t be a sycophant.

Always respect age, as age equals wisdom.

Be prepared to put the interests of your sibling first.

Be proud of who you are and where you come from, but open your mind to other cultures and languages. When you begin to travel (as I hope you will), you’ll learn that your place in the world is both vital and insignificant. Don’t get too big for your breeches.

Be ambitious, but not nakedly so. Be prepared to back your assertions with craftsmanship and hard work.

Live every day to its full: do something that makes you smile or laugh, and avoid procrastination.

Give of your best at school. Some teachers forget that pupils need incentives. So if your teacher doesn’t give you one, devise your own.

Always pay the most you can afford. Never skimp on hotels, clothing, shoes, make-up or jewellery. But always look for a deal. You get what you pay for.

Never give up! My two little soldiers have no dad, but you are brave, big-hearted, fit and strong. You are also loved by an immensely kind and supportive team of family and friends. You make your own good fortune, my children, so battle on.

Never feel sorry for yourself, or at least don’t do it for long. Crying doesn’t make things better.

Look after your body and it will look after you.

Learn a language, or at least try. Never engage a person abroad in conversation without first greeting them in their own language; by all means ask if they speak English!

And finally, cherish your mother, and take very good care of her.

What I need to learn about LIFE, I learned from PANTALON

Oo, pantalon.

:D It may sound peculiar, but life really did flash before me right in the middle of the "fitting room" and that 5 cold jeans lying on the floor.

MAHIRAP PUMILI LALO NA KUNG MARAMING OPTIONS
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." Very common among women lalo na when it comes to shopping. Marami kailangan i-consider, the FIT, the PRICE, and the QUALITY and/or BRAND. Ang problema, hindi ito all in one seasoning pack or 3 in 1 coffee, syempre pag branded mas mahal at hindi araw araw ay SALE. The worst part, YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE.

In this life, options never run out of stock. Whoever said " Wala na kasi akong choice kundi.. " was lying. Options are choices in a different set of letters. We just have to pick out one that suits us in a given situation. Pick wise for a trick comes with it - NO RETURN, NO EXCHANGE.. only LESSON LEARNED.

Give up. FIND THE ONE THAT FITS RIGHT.

Lemme get this straight and simple. Mahal mo. Mahal ka ba? Sya ang buhay mo. Mabubuhay sya ng wala ka. Iniiyakan mo. Umiiyak dahil sa iba. It's like squeezing a square peg into the round hole hoping it's malleable enough to go in. Have you succeeded? Yes, in deforming the hole... deforming yourself.

So it goes without saying, maluwag sya pag gutom ako. :)) I need BELT POWER! In as much as we need some SPACE TO BREATH, we also need SUPPORT to keep us IN PROPER PLACEMENT. THEY WILL NEVER LET US DOWN.

Ang PANTALON. bow!

I Will Still Love You

Talking 'bout how my thoughts run randoms over the things that matter most.

I WILL STILL LOVE YOU

Love 'em and leave 'em
Give them the air
Hurt and deceive them
Say you don't care
Break their hearts and let them fall
Like rain on your back stairs
Then call me up tomorrow
You know I'll still be there

When the moon disappears forever
And the sun shines electric blue
And the mountains and trees tumble into the sea
To rest there for eternity
No matter what you do
I will still love you

So if all your bridges go up in flames
And if all your lovers strike you too tame
Or some sad song of love you hear
Can make you call my name
I will be there in a minute
And you know I'll feel the same

When the moon disappears forever
And the sun shines electric blue
And the mountains and trees tumble into the sea
To rest there for eternity
No matter what you do
I will still love you

So the weary traveler
Tired of passing through
Stops to get his bearings
And stays on to wait for you

When the moon disappears forever
And the sun shines electric blue
And the mountains and trees tumble into the sea
To rest there for eternity
No matter what you do
I will still love you
I will still love you

Loveletter :) because it's a letter full of love. :)

Dear Tatay at Nanay,

Same people, same crowd, same critics.. mula noon hanggang ngayon.

The hardest, being your children, is to maintain the standards the society had set with us being the example. Sabi nga, one wrong move and you’re dead. Mahirap, in the sense na , kahit na pagkakamali na namin, these critics has a way to bounce back the negative comments sa inyo. That part was unbearably painful sa akin.. sa amin.. kasi alam namin na nasasaktan kayo. Our shortcomings are not yours. When we sin, that doesn’t make you a sinner. We’re no angels. We make mistakes once in while pero hindi po big sabihin nun ay hindi kayo naging mabuting magulang.

May nasulat akong essay nung 2nd year highschool ako.Ang pamagat ay “ What I Will Be 10 Years From Now”. Ikalawa, matagal pa yung 10 years, bakit po-problemahin ko agad yun? I’ll cross the bridge when I get there, sabi ng utak ko. I came up with a crappy essay with a sensible ending. Haha! Here to show off the last part :D

“ What I Will be 10 Years From Now”

I’m not really sure.Teacher. Nurse. Doctor. Writer. Musician. I can’t be just a bit of everything I want.I might change my mind every now and then and just be a simple house wife? But whatever and wherever life takes me 10 years from now, successful in my own field or not, I’m certain I’ll remain to be the loving daughter to my parents and loving sister to my siblings. Years won’t change a thing."

Things kinda get messy on this process, some kids aren’t that “accepting” while some parents keep on “insisting”. You know how it went after.

Isang bagay lang siguro. Pag malalaki na ang mga anak at nagkaron na ng sari-sariling buhay yet still at the end of the day, in the depths of their hearts, they wanna go home.

I do... with much anticipation.

With much longing,
Ur-super-daughter-wannabe ♥

Infinity

\infty - unlimited extent of time, space, or quantity: BOUNDLESSNESS.

The journey to forever started as we sat there one night and waited for the moon.

No magic. No fireworks. No glitz.

But it was a night I vividly etched in my heart.

Just Me and My Life I dearly hold.

Infinity. :)

My Favorite Teacher

THEM : "Why did you take up Education when you don't even wanna teach?"

ME : "Well, that was about the only decent thing when I was growing up for a girl to be.. and boy! who could resist the charm of their uniforms? . :D

Mine was not a call, just an obscure hunger that was waned and eventually evanesced by a clerical job my bored nerves clinched tight without animosity. The boredom can lead to constant flaring, btw. :))  yet still, teaching was not included in my job hunting list. :P

Looking back then, at 2 or 3pm during weekends, there at the mid part of the room in her upright most witty facade - my ate, a teacher wannabe - teaching us to read some English words. It was really her who greatly influenced me to take up the course. It was her dream, her call..  thats why after a couple of career switchings here and abroad, she finally stressed out the word " professional" in the card issued to her by the PRC.

I'm done and over with school days. Gone are the days when i skillfully write essays about How I Spent My Summer Vacation, My Pet Dog and the most paid of scrutiny and sarcasm,  My Favorite Teacher. I lied! Hahaha!

Last night.

ME : " Ate, you know who my favorite teacher is? "

ATE : ( with least attention on me ) " who? "

ME : " Ikaw. " ( sabay tawa ng napakalas )

ATE : "wee?!"

Glad I have one real teacher at home.

Happy Teacher's Day ate!

I will definitely marry this kid! =))

I despise the idea of me teaching predominantly for one ground; i hate the massive stack of papers that will fill up my room halfway the end of every school year. Of course they are your students craft but after you record the corresponding grade, they become the mere pile of junks ready to be discarded should there be idle time other than sleeping.

But this one is a real treasure, having it framed even cross my mind. :))

a craft of a 10yr old boy ( if I'm not mistaken), one of my ate's kids.. and by kids I mean students. :))

Very realistic view of marriage for a must-be-idealistic-kiddo!

Sweet.

A prayer for a dear sister

Father GOD I pray for your guidance in my sister’s life. I pray Lord that you will begin to speak in her life concerning the matters of the heart. I pray Lord that your will be done in her life. In her finances THAT SHE MAY HANDLE MONEY WELL AND HER CREDIT CARD TOO Photobucket, her career AS SHE WILL BE HAVING HER JOB INTERVIEW LATERPhotobucket, her relationships, her health, and her spirituality. I pray for favor Father for it is truly more precious than life. And Lord also remind my sister that obedience is better than sacrifice. Allow her the time and will to seek your face daily, not to lean on her own understanding but in all her ways acknowledge you so that you may direct her path. And once it has been revealed unto her your purpose and plan for her life allow her the ability to TRUST despite her surroundings and circumstances. Father I pray that she will not be moved by her circumstances but that she will continue to seek you. Father send your holy spirit as a comforter to her soul to bring back to her remembrance your promises for her life to give her an expected end. Father GOD I pray that you will just have your way on today. Let her know that you are still in control and you won’t leave her nor forsake her. Enable her to lay down her will and submit to yours Father. You said in your “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness, and all these things should be added unto you. ” Let her know that you will give her the desires of her heart.

Above all Lord, I pray for her today that YOU will enlighten and guide her in her job interview. Do I need to spell out her name Lord? cause she'll probably freak out when she gets to read this.Photobucket
Maybe a picture will help? >>>>it's her>> Photobucket

In JESUS NAME I PRAY AMEN.

Sinong nasa centerstage? Taas ang kamay!

Naka chat ko si tot kani-kanina lang. We trash-talked about our job and how it became so unbearably boring. I think, pareho kami. We both wanted the same thing; TO EXIT.

Yet swift as you want it to happen, the longer you are stuck at the mayhem.

(The sarcasm i inherited from him was gradually protruding by then.)

Kagabi magkausap kami sa text ng friend ko. Nag uusap kami tungkol sa kaibigan namin na dumadaan sa matinding problema ngayon. Sabi nya, tulungan ko daw yung friend namin kasi marami na sya namimiss sa buhay nya. Ito ang reply ko;

"Walang namimiss sa buhay eh. The fact that you had not done something means you're not destined to do it. Just that we cannot be at the centerstage altogether at the same time. May panahon na para sa atin at ngayon ay panahon pa ng iba. Weather weather ba."

Na-realize ko lang bigla, sino baga yung nasa centerstage ngayon na pinaboran ni kapalaran at parang masyado nya naeenjoy yung moment? Anung tagal nya bumaba, madami pa nakapila.

RE: The Laminin Connection

Here is something I think you and your medical friends might greatly enjoy. This was an article sent thru my mail which brought goosebumps.

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...and I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned....but I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway.

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is...how He spoke the universe into being...how He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire...etc. etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) .....and I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking....'How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???'

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!!
It was because he started talking about laminin. I knew about laminin. Here is how wikipedia describes them :'Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue.' You see....laminins are what hold us together....LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what laminin LOOKED LIKE.

But now I do. And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)....
Here is what the structure of laminin looks like...AND THIS IS NOT a 'Christian portrayal' of it....if you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see...
This definition of laminin is from: http://www.fasebj.org/cgi/content/abstract/4/2/148
'Globular and rod like domains are arranged in an extended four-armed, cruciform shape...'

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!! Amazing.
The glue that holds us together....ALL of us....is in the shape of the cross.
Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

'He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth , visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things,
and in him all things HOLD TOGETHER. '
Colossians 1:15-17

hguonEmAI

I have run out of things to blather on lately. I don’t know but I’ve been battling with this squeamish icky feeling I park myself on each time my oh-so-beautiful-mind squeezes juicy thoughts yet I bulge in distress trying to make lemonade out of it. A sluggish yet severe silence that is neither good nor bad, just there. I could feel the urge to thump on the q w e r t y and the a s d f g the moment I come in close contact with the board, but heck I could not write a thing!

Piling up all hassles and bustles inside my brain, I am technically half dead! I’ve stopped watching the shows in Disney channel. I’ve not keeping up much on emails, blogs, forums and anything in line with those. Been kind of absent, been kinda sick. But maybe these things aren’t vital to define LIFE and LIVING.

It isn’t an imperative to keep up with the digital slingers all the time. I mean they are just chewing gums that our tongue and teeth masticate to pass away boredom and then spew out after wringing its flavour. Maybe at one point we need to be just with our own selves and hibernate there at the very core. Maybe this very breath that I unenervately grasp every now and then is a life that I squander in giving, loving and vice versa. I love it. It gives me the feeling that I am living, for real. Maybe that is enough. Maybe I am enough.

Sweet.

CHEESY!!!

_______________

“ Is there anything bothering you Ms. Madrid?” o kaya nmn “ Do you know the song Traces? If you can provide me a copy then maybe I could give you a passing grade”. Pano kasi ang hilig sa fill in the blanks.

(bleh!)

crazylittlethingcalledLOVE.

In the desperation of our broken hearts we try to make sense out of something that was “so right” or good and how it possibly could have gone so horribly wrong. You comb over the memories of the times you spent together. You think back to your first kiss or even the very moment you set your eyes on them. Why now? Common phrases such as “it happened so fast” come into play as you are left confused, broken and left alone with only but your thoughts. The mind can be a terrible thing if allowed to convince you that you will never be happy again without the love you just lost.

What I learned was that no matter how much we claim to love someone, a one-sided love is not enough glue to hold you both together. Love is not a compromise. It is a mutual choice and to do it on a consistent basis not because you have to but because it comes naturally. Love is patient, love is kind. If you let go of all the negative things and experiences that love was involved in (annulment or breakup) the truth be told is that it wasn’t love that hurt you, it was HOW the person loved you that did. There are so many stages of love but if someone doesn’t know how to love you, it will never work. Is this love’s fault? No. Plain and simple, it’s just the way things are. Just because someone doesn’t want to be with you anymore or doesn’t know how to give you the very things that you DO need to be happy doesn’t mean they are hateful or doesn’t care about you. Would you want to be with someone who didn’t love you the way you needed them to love you or would you rather be with someone who would walk through fire just to be near you? THIS is what I have learned in my lifetime. Love is not something you just accept. Love is something so powerful that we no not it’s origin but we do know when it’s the love we need. How do we know? Because it makes us want to stay with it forever.

If you love someone, you will do anything. You’ll do all the crazy things you can’t explain. Love, with the right person will only continue to grow and grow. The hand-hold never gets old. The going places together never gets boring. The nights you sit up talking about the important things in your life and having someone there to listen and provide you positive feedback and not criticism. THAT..is what love is. I have no doubt that love will find you. Make sure NOT to confuse love for a person or their ability to love you. There is a difference. How will you know? Your heart will tell you that their heart told you so.

-Remember-

Never give up hope and make sure that those who say they love you back that up on a consistent and positive basis. Never give up your core in order to be loved by someone else. Learn to dance to the melody YOU create. If someone else wants to join you, let them hold onto you for a while. You never know, you may end up holding one another in the long run.

Happy dancing.
