Will you confess your love to the beautiful sky
Even if it’s lips and fingers you can never caress?
Catch every tear she sheds, as precious as lost gems
And give it to the dying earth below you.
Will you touch the beating heart of an angry flame
And let it burn your frozen mind and being?
Be reborn from the sandy ashes it will yield
And be hardened with the pungent black smoke.
Will you embrace the raging sea like a motherless child
And engrave your name on the faceless waves?
Tread the endless, meandering currents,
And surrender to the ocean’s playful whim.
And let it sway in the wind as you twirl and dance?
I’ll let my memories of you be blessed by heavenly rain
And be cleansed from my hunger of wordly gains.
